Beach front, in superior location, 4 bedrooms 3 bath beach-front house originally built in the 60’s. Located two houses from end of street inside the private gated community. Large beach front deck with easy beach access. Master bedroom is located on second floor with a bathroom, includes a sitting room with a day bed and pull a out trundle that sleeps 2. 3 other bedrooms located on street side of house, one of which has a separate entrance from courtyard for privacy. House is dated but measures 2500 square feet and is right on the beach.

  The beach house was a perfect fit for our family and in-laws. The deck and easy beach access made it especially easy for our young grandchildren and older in-laws. The bed in the “ in-law quarters “ where my actual in-laws was very uncomfortable & they said “sank in the middle”.

  642 Beach drive has a fantastic location on the private beach at Rio del Mar. it is near the end of the street, so not a lot of people from the public parking area outside of the gate end up in front of this location.
  The house lay-out is unusual, but pleasant enough with an open-air courtyard and a large deck.
  Unfortunately, the house is not only outdated, but not well-kept.
  The living room furniture is old and not overly comfortable. The two king beds are ok at best, the trundle is broken, and the 4 twin beds in two rooms are old, thin mattresses, at least one of which has such a huge sway, that it is impossible to sleep on comfortably.
  one closet has an old playpen, that no one would ever use taking up space and a lamp that is broken and has been for at least the last three years.
  The gas grill in the courtyard is so dirty and greasy that it has an unpleasant smell and likely presents a grease-fire hazard. - and only 1/2 of it works.
  the kitchen has plenty of dishware, silverware and glassware, but cooking utensils are old, broken and sparce. Pots and pans are ok. The dishwasher is temperamental and only opens the soap dispenser on occasion. the kitchen does have a new stovetop and marble counters.
  the shades cannot be lowered so anyone on the beach can see into the house at all times - day or night. None of the windows were clean, not just the outside from the sea air, but also dirt and smudges on the inside. Overall, the house is dusty and does not feel clean.
  Given the high rent, one would expect a clean, comfortable house, not just a great location. My family has stayed at this property the last 3 summers, but we will not be returning to this property.
  The Cheshire-Rio staff is always efficient, helpful and friendly and we will look to them in the future for a different property.

  Location is fantastic. it is located towards the end of Beach Dr behind the gate, and is right on the beach. The home is not updated, but the location makes up for that. There was a problem with the hot water not functioning properly for the detached bedroom. Also, some of the bed mattresses have used up their usefulness as they are starting to sag towards the middle. Would rent here again.

  We love the layout and location of this beautiful beachfront home. The courtyard is a big plus. The deck is nice and roomy. The location is far enough from the public beach access that we do not have lots of people setting up for the day in front of the home. This is our 3rd stay at this property. This year, we found the kitchen to be seriously lacking - there was only 1 potholder, and 3 kitchen towels. Some basic cookware and utensils are in real need of replacement.
  The house has windows across the front as well as many sliders - ALL of the windows were very dirty. There were smudges, handprints, finger drawings, water splatters, etc. They had not been cleaned, or even wiped in a very long time.
  We love the layout of the house, the location cannot be beat, but the house should be clean and better equipped.
  We will be back - the folks at Cheshire are always helpful and friendly both on the phone and in person.

  Our first experience with this beach house and we were very pleased. This beach house has an awesome view through the front windows as soon as you enter. The front deck is nice and wide with an overhang that provides shade for most of the day. There is a large table that seats 8 to 10 people comfortably that is nice for family get togethers. Interior atrium provides shade during hottest part of the day and provides shade while barbecuing dinner. Overall great experience with the house, the location and the property management staff. We will be back next year.

  We were told in advance that the refrigerator was broken and a small loaner was there. Despite many phone calls, the refrigerator was not fixed until Wednesday so we had to use our ice chests and buy ice every day to keep our food cold. During our stay, the dishwasher also had to be repaired, and there were ants in the kitchen. The property was not in very good condition although we did enjoy the location and our family time. I would not rent this location again.

  The rental was clean and spacious, the employees are friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, and the view is wonderful! We totally enjoyed our stay, but dogs are not allowed which is very difficult for us. We have a 4 year old Shih Tzu dog, he has hair and not fur so she does not shed, the trip would be so much more enjoyable if our dog could be with us!

  Have been utilizing Cheshire for 20+ years. Terrific always. This property while terrific in location is just a bit tired in relation to condition. Flooring and window coverings were tired and a bit too dusty relating to allergies for me personally.

  This was our first stay at 642 Beach Drive. The location was just perfect for our family, 3 generations from 2 to 65. The house was very comfortable, beautiful ocean views. The inner courtyard was also beautiful, and a safe secure place especially when staying with small children. We lucked out with beautiful warm weather, and are hoping to make this an annual stay for our family.

  Our stay was very enjoyable, the ocean view and beach access is just the best! The weather could have been a little better, but still beautiful. Broken gas fireplace should be fixed or replaced, the deck plug outlet does not work, some areas of the house could be cleaner, some papers under couch in front room, but other than these few items the rental was lovely.
